TECH ARTIST

Big Moxi Games is expanding its technical art team to drive the development of external projects in collaboration with a major global publisher. We are looking for talented tech artists who bring a wealth of experience and a passion for crafting exceptional games.

Responsibilities: 

  • Work with the art and engineering teams to implement in-game animations and systems.

  • Develop, maintain and document animation systems and pipelines.

  • Assist the team in planning animation work.

Required Skills:

  • Advanced Expertise in Unreal Engine Animation Systems:

Deep understanding and extensive hands-on experience with Unreal Engine’s animation systems, including Animation Blueprint Layers, Animation Multi-threading, and specific enhancements in Unreal Engine 5. The candidate should be proficient in creating complex animation systems that are both optimized and scalable.

  • Technical Animation Proficiency:

Proven practical experience in technical animation, with the ability to troubleshoot and solve sophisticated animation challenges. The ideal candidate will have experience integrating animations into diverse game environments and ensuring they interact seamlessly with other gameplay elements.

  •  Comprehensive Knowledge of Unreal Engine Framework:

Mastery of the Unreal Engine framework, particularly in Blueprint visual scripting, to construct and maintain advanced animation pipelines. The candidate should demonstrate the ability to create efficient and maintainable Blueprint scripts that contribute to a cohesive and dynamic animation system.

  •  Strong C++ and Unreal Engine Architecture:

A solid foundation in C++ programming, with an in-depth understanding of Unreal Engine’s animation-related class architecture. The candidate should be adept at extending Unreal Engine’s capabilities through C++ when needed, ensuring that all customizations enhance the overall animation system.

  • Expertise in Motion Matching:

Specialized knowledge in Motion Matching techniques, with practical experience implementing these within Unreal Engine. The candidate should understand the complexities of Motion Matching and be capable of integrating this technique to achieve realistic and responsive character movements in the game environment.

  • Proficiency with Inverse Kinematics (IK):

Strong experience with Inverse Kinematics systems within Unreal Engine, including both single-chain and full-body IK. The candidate should be skilled in setting up and fine-tuning IK for complex character rigs to ensure natural and accurate movement, particularly in dynamic gameplay scenarios. Understanding the intricacies of blending IK with other animation techniques to achieve fluid and responsive character actions is essential.

Nice to Have:

  • Experience with Unreal Engine 5.
