Big Moxi Games is scaling its programmer team to support the development of internal and external projects with a large global publisher. We are seeking passionate programmers with 2+ years of experience on Unreal Engine (blueprints and C++) to join us in creating awesome games for PC and consoles.

<h3>Responsabilities:</h3><ul><li>Collaborate with the engineering team to develop, debug, and maintain game systems using Unreal Engine 5.</li><li>Partner with engineers at multiple levels and the networking team to ensure large-scale performance optimization.</li><li>Create and document complex systems clearly, including technical design documents and code references.</li></ul><h3>Required Skills:</h3><ul><li>Minimum of 2+ years of experience in multiplayer game development, preferably with Unreal Engine.</li><li>Strong proficiency in C++.</li><li>Familiarity with version control systems such as Git and Perforce.</li><li>Positive, collaborative, and self-motivated attitude, effective in team environments.</li><li>Excellent verbal and written communication skills to articulate complex processes.</li><li>Ability to work collaboratively across different disciplines including design, art, and production.</li></ul><h3>Pluses:</h3><ul><li>Experience in AAA game development.</li><li>Experience with the Gameplay Ability System (GAS).</li><li>A portfolio showcasing attention to detail and high-quality, maintainable code.</li><li>Experience in profiling and optimizing applications for bandwidth and CPU usage.</li><li>Proven ability and willingness to mentor other engineers.</li></ul>

GAMEPLAY PROGRAMMER UNREAL/C++ (MID TO SENIOR)

We are looking for a Game System Engineer that is versed in client-server AAA game development to architect and implement modular, re-usable, performant, expandable, maintainable gameplay systems that lead to consistently great player experiences at high framerate in content rich multi-player environments.

This role must focus on the simplest system that delivers the objective without over-engineering, or boxed in solutions. It must consider optimal workflows to enable the content teams to utilize the system at scale. It&#39;s necessary to think about operations once the system is live with observability through telemetry and logging. This person must be a full stack developer who can create functional gray-box UI/UX with client and server functional implementation, with consideration of back-end processing and storage.<h3>Responsabilities:</h3><ul><li>Architect and implement efficient client-server game systems that deliver a great player experience.</li><li>Implement and guide the user interface for these systems.</li><li>Build tools and automation that streamline workflows for content creators, and customer support.</li><li>Develop robust data schema to make the system efficient and durable.</li><li>Mentor and assist other engineers esp. in utilizing these systems.</li></ul><h3>Required Experience:</h3><ul><li>Demonstrated experience building AAA real-time multi-player online game systems (e.g. missions, housing, crafting, abilities, in-game store).</li><li>Direct game development experience in Unreal Engine 5 (preferred) or 4.</li><li>Demonstrated experience working with cross-functional teams.</li><li>Strong networking and data system experience.</li><li>Multiple shipped titles.</li><li>Strong communication skills.</li></ul><h3>Nice-to-have Experience:</h3><ul><li>Experience in game cloud services especially using JVM (Java, Kotlin).</li><li>Experience implementing good UI/UX.</li><li>Expertise integrating and implementing content creation tools.</li><li>Live operations and analytics experience.</li><li>Experience working with Machine Learning and Generative AI.</li><li>Python, Blueprints. </li></ul>We are an equal opportunity employer. GAME SYSTEMS ENGINEER (MID TO SENIOR)

We are looking for a Services Engineer experienced in scalable, high-availability backend systems to architect, develop, and maintain the online infrastructure powering our games. You’ll build secure, performant, and resilient services that support matchmaking, player data, live ops, and multiplayer experiences—ensuring seamless connectivity and stability for players worldwide.

<h3>Responsibilities:</h3><ul><li>Write robust and reliable core backend services that scale gracefully while being easy to understand and operate.</li></ul><h3>Required Experience:</h3><ul><li>5+ years of experience developing backend services and operating them at scale </li><li>Expertise with one or more server-side development languages:<ul><li>Ideally JVM: Java/ Kotlin </li><li>Acceptable Alternatives: C#/ Golang </li></ul></li><li>Strong grasp of how to scale distributed online systems and how it ultimately affects the player experience </li><li>At least some experience with the following technologies: <ul><li>Caching </li><li>Load Balancing </li><li>Database Schema Design </li><li>Concurrency design techniques </li><li>Microservice Architecture</li></ul></li></ul><h3>Desired Experience:</h3><ul><li>Mastery of web-based protocols and various implementation tradeoffs, examples <ul><li>Protobuf </li><li>Websockets </li><li>HTTPS </li></ul></li><li>Building fault-tolerant distributed systems that adhere to security best practices </li><li>Experience operating systems in linux-based environments </li><li>Experience architecting Unreal Engine(UE5 or UE4)&nbsp;&nbsp;game code to effectively integrate with online services.&nbsp;&nbsp;</li><li>Ability to contextualize backend code with the overall desired player experience </li><li>Building game services </li></ul>
